Although at £22 per bottle it is far more than I typically spend I think this unusual organic red wine blended with dedicated expertise from several grape varieties really delivers smooth deep flavour. More for savouring over a meal than for casual drinking without food I believe it delivers good value.
This is for me the best of the several cuvées I have tried - complex, rich and developed flavours, enhanced by partial storage in amphoras, producing a touch of very welcome oxidative notes to add interest. If, like me, you can't afford Selosse, then go for this instead!
One of the most splendid wines I have ever tasted
Good, efficient service.
I am in two minds about reviewing this because everyone will know it is such an incredible wine! Think of an Australian attempt at a Northern Rhône and, unusually, the vineyard has chosen to market it as a Syrah rather than a more traditionally termed Shiraz. There are notes of fruit and pepper (in equal measure) on the nose. The complexity of the wine on the palate is akin to a flavour riot with the pepper competing against the fruit and the final outcome being a beautifully balanced combination of both and a lingering complex and complicated finish. Thoroughly good value and highly recommended. Having tried a number of excellent wines from the Good Wine Shop this is a definite favourite particularly at £19.50. It fared well in a tasting with friends especially against a much more expensive Californian.
Title says it all. Gavi di Gavi is our "go to" white wine for general drinking. Tried quite a few producers, but this is so clean tasting I think it really edges out the others.
Always great to get my subscription delivery and all bottles never fail to please. Highly recommended.
Given we will not be able to travel to Portugal this Summer, having the Soalheiro in London is the closest we will get to the feeling of being in Portugal! Fresh and wonderful!
Domaine Nicolas Rossignol, Pommard 2017
My Aunt loved all of her wine. Thank you!
Bordeaux mix from the Pacific North West. Familiar old world taste from the new world. I will buy more.
Who needs Burgundy when minerality can be so profound in a wine like this for under £20! Would love to get my hands on more from this domaine!
Gorgeous Pinot Noir with great depth and texture. Worth the money.
Tickles the tastebuds. So refreshing and extremely drinkable!
