Description

This is a generous Champagne full of citrus and tropical fruit with a hint of red summer fruit. The palate is very refreshing with a creamy and moreish texture. Excellent as an aperitif, it will match very well with scallops or Asian-inspired fish dishes.

This Blanc de Noirs Champagne is made up of 30% of Reserve Wine and 10% solera of 6 vintages.

Didier Gallimard owns 10 hectares of prime vineyards on the steep slopes around Les Riceys in the southern Aube. Didier's son Arnaud has joined him, becoming the seventh generation, and the long term future is now secure. His vines average age is over 30 years and the dramatically sloping vineyards, which are of chalk and Kimmeridgian limestone, are planted mainly to Pinot Noir and just a little Chardonnay. His wines are full and rich and offer enticing aromas and flavours of summer fruits. His rich exotic Rose is produced in very limited quantities.

Lovely Champagne

The Blanc de Noir Gallimard Champagne has been my "go-to" Champagne for a while - it has lovely red fruit aromas and more body than the classic Champagne blends or Blanc de Blancs. Great quality for this price point.
