Sparkling wine can be made in a few different ways. These methods dramatically effect the taste of the sparkling wine along with the grapes used. The most famous sparkling wine, Champagne is made using only three different grapes and can only be made sparkling by a secondary fermentation inside the bottle. This is known as the traditional method which is used in many other regions and countries where other grapes can be used. Other popular sparkling wine such as Prosecco are made using the 'tank method' this is simpler and thus make it more affordable for the drinker.
