Rocca del Principe, Fiano di Avellino 2017

All the operations that take place in the vineyard are aimed at obtaining low yields per hectare while respecting the environment: processing between rows, exclusively mechanical weeding, organic fertilization every other year, integrated struggle for phytosanitary treatments, green pruning and thinning of the bunches in the years more generous.

It is fermented and aged in steel tanks on its lees, for ten months. Before fermentation there is some skin contact giving the wine its beautiful golden colour. 

Rocca Del Principe is located in Lapio, a small town on the hills of the green Irpinia. Notably, Irpinia is thought to be the master of one of the largest crus in Campania and to which Rocca Del Principe has dedicated itself to for more than thirty years: the Fiano di Avellino.
A great influence to the region is the Picentini mountains : one of its peaks, Mount Tuoro (1400 mt.) Is located  a very short distance away and acts as a thermoregulator in modulating the heat and in accentuating the thermal excursions of nights and cold winters.
The winery was founded in 2004, (up to that date producers of grapes given to others) by the will of Ercole Zarrella , his wife Aurelia Fabrizio and his brother Antonio , driven by the common goal of producing only typical wines: Fiano, Aglianico, Taurasi whose DOCG and DOC, unique in their territory, are best expressed in their various declinations.
The value and respect for their lands, inherited from their grandparents and parents, is also transmitted to the three daughters of Ercole and Aurelia: Maria Rita Simona and Martina, all dedicated to their specific role in the winery.
