Description

It's not quite a wine, but a Piquette, a lightly fizzy, low alcohol drink. It's a delight of rhubarb fizz, raspberry cooler, blackcurrant and gentle herbal tones. Drink this instead of beer. So refreshing, so good!

Now here's something different! The Wanderlust project allows vigneron Craig to flex his creative muscles, creating a different wine each vintage, never to be repeated again. And the 2021 - well, it's not quite a wine, but a piquette, a lightly fizzy, lowish alcohol drink traditionally enjoyed by vineyard workers and small subsistence winegrowing families. Produced by soaking pressed grape skins in water then pressed again, allowed to ferment and bottled during fermentation to retain a light spritz.

Restless River is a rising star which has quietly achieved cult-status for its brilliant, Burgundian-style Chardonnay and ultra-elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. Launched in 2012 by Craig Wessels, alongside his wife Anne, their farm is located in the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. It's home to some of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay vines in the region
