Quirky Sommelier Mixed Case

Only 2 Left!

A unique selection of unicorn wines from lesser known regions and grape varieties. If you're a bit of a wine geek like us or interested in trying new things off the beaten track, this is the perfect case for you.

All the wines have a minimal intervention approach – if not organic, biodynamic or natural winemaking, and represent true terroirs expressions.

This case contains one bottle of each of the wines listed below.

  • Huber, Gruner Veltliner Terrassen 2020, Austria – Organic

From the Traisental region, the wine goes under skin contact for six hours and is kept on the lees for three months, adding texture and body. Very fresh with yellow fruit, aromatic herbs and pure pepper – hinting at typical Grüner spiciness. Pair it with fishes like trout or salmon, or with spicy food – especially Asian cuisine.

  • Domaine Les Hautes Noelles, Cuvee Nature L'Intrepide Vieilles Vignes, Muscadet 2019, France  Organic, Natural/Low Sulphites, Vegan

Aged on the lees in old barrels with batonnage for six months. Intense baked fruit aromas with notes of grilled almond. Crisp, mineral finish with a caramelised touch to it. Not your average Muscadet, showing some autolytic and oxidative characters – reminiscent of Champagne but without the fizz. Only 1,400 bottles made.

  • Domaine Saint-Germain, Altesse Roussette de Savoie 2020, Savoie, France – Organic, Vegan

Made from the grape Altesse, it has an amazing complexity with pronounced flavours of honey and peach with hints of mango and pineapple and a minerality backbone that demonstrates its Alpine origins. Fresh and versatile, it can be enjoyed with a wide range of foods from raclette and fondue to grilled chicken, seafood and grilled fish.

  • Avignonesi, Da.Di Amphora 2020, Tuscany, Italy – Organic, Biodynamic, Low Sulphites, Vegan

100% Sangiovese, a vibrant and unvarnished taste of red fruit, Da.Di is bursting with the freshness and elegance typical of amphora-ageing. Medium body, sleek texture and mouth-watering red berries and cherries tantalise the senses, giving way to a soft spicy finish.

  • Franz Weninger, Kekfrankos 2018, Hungary  Organic, Biodynamic, Natural/Low Sulphites

Kekfrankos is the Hungarian name of Blaufrankisch – an Austrian red grape. This wine displays deep dark fruit, sweet dried plums and hints of spices and herbs with smooth tannins.

  • Combel La Serre, Le Pur Fruit du Causse 2019, Cahors, France  Organic, Vegan

A bright and intense purple colour which is recognisably Malbec with the bramble fruit and the grip. Yet at just 12.5% alcohol it's a genuine vin de soif. Potentially for serving lightly chilled in warmer summer months. Radically brilliant!
