In this renowned Westhofen vineyard site, which opens up like an amphitheatre towards the Rhine, the Wechslers own parcels within plots named "Big Kirchspiel" and "Little Kirchspiel". From the small, terraced parcel, one can allow their gaze to wander endlessly. Facing south and southeast while being sheltered from the wind, the 30 percent steep slope warms up quickly. The soils consist of clay marl with significant, skeletal-like limestone deposits. The Kirchspiel exhibits elegance and length, characterised by the dance-like fruitiness and minerality typical of the area. Thanks to the limestone in the subsoil, it always appears steely and precise.
