Description

Made like a Champagne but from South of France, this is a lively and bright fizz with intense citrusy notes and just a hint of yeasty savouriness overlaying the lifted fruit aromas.

Delivery Information

This Chardonnay based Cremant de Limoux (as opposed to a Mauzac dominated Blanquette de Limoux) is made using the 'methode traditionnelle'. First fermentation is in stainless steel vats to control the temperature with the secondary fermentation in bottle. The wine is then allowed to rest on lees for a minimum of twelve months before disgorgement, with a further fifteen months in bottle before release.

JLaurens produce both Mauzac-dominated Blanquette de Limoux and Chardonnay-based Cremant de Limoux from their 30ha of organically-farmed vineyards slightly south-west of Carcassone. The domaine was established by a champenois in the 80s and is today owned by Jacques Calvel, who surrounded by an expert local team, has built the domaine's current reputation for outstanding sparkling wines.
