Description

An organically-certified cuvee this wine is full of intensity. The nose is ripe and warm. Strawberry tart and sweet spice a hint of cinnamon draw you in. The palate is more dark berry in nature baked cherries and a note of spice. This this organically-certified cuvée we feel is in the perfect drinking window.

Delivery Information

This organically-certified cuvee is produced by vinifying Cabernet Franc grapes grown at the foot of the slope. The domain uses gravity vatting, fermentation with native yeasts and a low-temperature infusion for a period of between twenty days and a month, prior to an elevage of six to eight months in demi-muid barrels.

Domaine de la Chevalerie is owned and run by Danielle and Pierre Caslot. The 33-hectare organic estate is based in Bourgueil and has been in the Caslot family since 1640 and an excellent range of reds are produced from their cellar in the village of Restigne. The wines are made only from the Cabernet Franc grape, producing fresh yet intense reds that are a delight to drink.
