Faint reddish orange hue. Sweet and gentle aromas of apricot, apple compote, Darjeeling, old Rose with subtle vanilla notes are derived from 8 months in oak barrels. The complex palate from the skins and seeds of the Koshu grape come from gentle skin contact, this creates a three-dimensional feeling in the mouth.

Superb

We recently had a Japanese meal at home and paired our miso cod with this wine. For me it’s a fascinating taste and one I’d recommend to try. Doesn’t need to be too cold.

Curiously interesting

Best served decanted at 12 - 14 degrees, to bring out its aromas and flavours, as an 'orange' wine from its skin contact.
I found it to be dry, smooth, medium acidity and body. Subtle aromas of citrus fruit, and a clean, fresh taste.
I was pleased to try it as an example of Japanese wine (and grape), and can certainly recommend it for others who are interested.
Having enjoyed it from that point of view, I would probably not buy another bottle of this wine at this price.
