Val Delle Rose, Cobalto Vermentino 2023
On the nose, it’s layered and complex, think ripe stone fruit and citrus from the stainless steel fermentation, balanced by a distinct salty, mineral edge brought out by ageing in amphora. There’s also a subtle touch of toasted oak in the background, adding warmth and depth without overpowering. As it opens up, you’ll pick up notes of wild herbs and Mediterranean scrub, a nod to its coastal origins.
Roberto Sarotto, Gavi di Gavi Bric Sassi 2023
Medium-bodied and silky with plenty of juicy peach and pear fruit alongside stony minerality. Perfect summer drinking... or for when you want to be reminded of summer! Outstanding with any fish-based dish, and with hot and cold hors-d'oeuvres.
Named Clochard, meaning 'vagrant' in French, for being produced from Verdicchio vines that lie outside the Verdicchio Castelli DOC boundary. Lime zest, spring hawthorn and apple blossom, with a fine, chalky element and touch of cardamom too. The palate is zippy and bursting with life - lime juice, a gentle bitter and creamy almond note, and briney freshness too, finishing with long, yellow-pepper accented tang.
Villa Cerna, Primocolle Chianti Classico 2022
Super complex nose of nutmeg, rose hips, fresh raspberries. The palate full of thyme, button mushrooms and dried flowers and warm liquorice, Deliciously salty and juicy with fine-grained tannins, a medium body and tasty, spicy finish.
Reverdito, Nebbiolo Langhe Simane 2023
A fantastic alternative to Barolo that does much less damage to your wallet! This Piedmontese red is 100% Nebbiolo and delivers the deep, delicious red fruit notes you expect from the grape variety as well as hints of liquorice and tobacco. Gathering a real following in our shops and perfect with roast beef or game.
Val Delle Rose, Poggio Al Leone Riserva Morellino di Scansano 2021
Poggio al Leone presents a deep, intense ruby red colour with richness and depth. On the nose, it reveals a complex and expressive bouquet. Ripe red cherries, wild berries, and sun-drenched plums are layered with nuances of dried herbs, violet, and a touch of sweet tobacco. Subtle notes of vanilla, spice, and toasted oak emerge from its time in barrique, adding depth without overwhelming the fruit.
