Grapes come from predominantly north-facing parcels at 500m, with the riper component sourced from lower south-west-facing Baixo Corgo and Cima Corgo vineyards on schist at 250m.  Sixty-years-old or more, these field blend parcels major on Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Carvalha, Tinta Francisca and Sousão - grapes known for their fresh, aromatic profile.  Hand-picked, the grapes were destemmed, crushed and, following a two-day cold soak, fermented with native yeasts in temperature controlled stainless steel vats.

Portugal Boutique Winery is a new company founded only two years ago by two young friends Nuno Aguiar de Morais Vaz and Antonio Olazabal Ferreira, linked umbilicalmente to the Douro in its fullness. Its philosophy is to produce wines that express the full authenticity of the Terroir, the grape varieties and the harvest year, for this, intervening as little as possible in the winery.By staying true to this philosophy, each wine will tell a story and reflect the earth, the climate, the soil where the grapes come from, and the people involved in its creation. At the moment they work in two distinct regions although both kiss the Douro, they are the Demarcated Region of the Douro and the Mirandese Plateau, in the two they look for unique vineyards, with history and that help to save the Portuguese genetic inheritance viticultural, valuing thus, native breeds , in the process of 'extinction' and preferably in the 'field blend'. They work side by side with small vineyards with small plots in different places of the region, with vineyards at different altitudes, solar expositions and types of soil, believe that only in this way will they increase the essence of their wines to the maximum exponent. Balance and authenticity are key guidelines in the development of your work.
