Au Fil du Temps unveils a symphony of aromas with notes of violet, fresh blackberry, and black truffle. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, brimming with wild berries. The oak ageing imparts elegant toasted mocha nuances that perfectly complement its well-integrated tannins.

Production Notes Production Notes

The grapes are partially destemmed and fermented in stainless steel and concrete tanks, where punching down and pumping over are applied to extract the very best from the Syrah. The ageing, lasting up to 18 months, takes place in barrels.

Producer Producer

Emmanuel is a young, enthusiastic grower in Crozes Hermitage and is married to the daughter of the great Bernard Faurie. For the time being he makes Crozes and also Saint-Joseph which he inherited from his father-in-law. His family grew fruit and grapes which it sold to the cooperative in Tain l'Hermitage so Emmanuel is the first in the family to make the wine himself.

Right from the start, Emmanuel Darnaud attached great importance to vinifying each of his parcels separately, in order to bring out all the subtleties and lively expressions of the terroir. His ideal is to find the right balance by taking particular care with the harvest. Soils are worked and yields limited. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted by plot. The grapes have been partially destemmed since 2016, and vatting lasts 15 to 20 days. The wine is aged in oak barrels or ½ muids, or in vats.
