Montevertine is one of Tuscany’s most distinctive estates and an important name in the history of the Super Tuscan movement. Founded by Sergio Manetti in the 1960s, the estate left the Chianti Classico system to focus on pure expressions of Sangiovese. Today, Montevertine remains known for traditional winemaking, long ageing and wines such as Le Pergole Torte, regarded as one of the region’s benchmark expressions of Sangiovese.
