This Riesling comes from the steep, east facing Reiler Falklay vineyard which has a soil of red slate. In the cellar, the grapes were whole-bunch pressed and fermentation occurred spontaneously in stainless steel. After fermentation, the wine aged until midwinter of 2022 in 500L oak barrels until it was racked into stainless steel for bottling and mixed with a 15L of 2022 Pinot Blanc lees to add a little freshness.
Troupe’s first release in collaboration with Alexander Arns is this long aged Riesling from 2019. This limited edition, late-bottled Mosel Riesling shows a fresh and unique approach. A glorious experiment with an extended 3 year barrel aging results in a Riesling like no other.
