Description
The grapes for The Rola de Branco, Douro 2019 wine are grown in two separate plots. Winemaker Ana Rolo found vineyards that express the freshness of the Douro and used the grapes from them to create a modern Douro classic.
On the palate this wine reveals a very fresh and crisp grip, tickling the taste buds with notes of citrus and tropical fruits, to giving way to an extremely smooth yet vibrant almondy complexity with a long finish.

The grapes for this wine are grown in two separate plots which the winemaker decided would make the best expression of a modern Douro white.
Ana Rola is born and raised in the Douro. Since an early age she knew she wanted to be a winemaker in the Douro Valley. Here she finds originality, unbeatable terroir and knowledge. Here, she feels, she can overcome the challenges of creating a wine that stands out from the crowd! In 2014 Ana decided to leave her post as head winemaker at a large prestigious Douro winery to go it alone. She explains: "After many years doing what I love for others, I think it got to a point that I thought ‘why not do it for myself?’." Ana Rola shared she wants "to make wines that really tell you where they come from, wine from specific vineyards with minimal intervention, wines that are true and honest."
