From a vineyard near the eponymous village on the right bank of the Serein and very near to the 1er Cru Mont de Milieu. Normally the village level wines are fermented and aged in tank, this vineyard has such great quality, that Piuze treated it like his 1er and Grand Cru vineyards, fermenting and aging the wine entirely in neutral barrels for ten months.
One of the most exciting Chablis producers, Patrick Piuze was born in Montreal and established his own label in Chablis in 2008 having worked for the likes of Olivier Leflaive, Jean-Marc Brocard and Jean-Marie Guffens.
His deep knowledge of the Chablis’ terroir and his long-term relationships with the growers allows him to work with some of the most exciting parcels of vines in the entire region from Petit Chablis to Chablis Grand Cru.
