Meet the Winemaker - Timo Mayer: Richmond Hill Wednesday 26th August

For one special evening, join us for a rare opportunity to meet acclaimed Yarra Valley winemaker Timo Mayer and discover the passion, personality and craftsmanship behind his remarkable wines.

Originally from Germany, Timo made his way to Australia's Yarra Valley, where he now organically farms his tiny 2.5-hectare vineyard, Bloody Hill—named for its famously steep slopes ("because it's bloody steep!"). From this remarkable site, alongside a handful of carefully selected single-vineyard parcels, Timo produces handcrafted wines that are celebrated for their elegance, purity and unmistakable sense of place.

Best known for his world-class Pinot Noir, Timo has earned an international reputation for creating expressive, terroir-driven wines that consistently captivate critics and wine lovers alike. His philosophy is simple: let the vineyard speak, intervene as little as possible, and make wines full of energy, character and life.

Throughout the evening, Timo will guide you through a carefully curated selection of his wines, sharing the stories behind each bottle—from the vineyards and grape varieties to his winemaking philosophy, the challenges he embraces, and the small details that shape the wine in your glass.

This is far more than a traditional wine tasting. With just 10 guests gathered around the table, you'll enjoy an intimate journey from grape to glass, with a level of access and conversation that's usually only possible at the winery itself.

Alongside the wines, we'll serve a selection of carefully chosen cheeses, thoughtfully paired to complement and enhance each wine.

Those who know Timo also know he's every bit as entertaining as he is talented. Expect plenty of stories, laughter and his trademark "funky" enthusiasm throughout the evening. Whether you're already a fan of his wines or discovering them for the first time, you're in for a real treat.
