The is a beautiful deep black crimson in colour. The nose pops with a light spicy liquorice and baked cherry pie. The palate is big and bold but amazingly fresh with a persistent youthful minerality.

Jordi Masdeu Català is the innovative young winemaker here and is turning out some excellent stuff. Their Vi d'Altura red is blended from Garnacha grapes grown in a number of different vineyards on their estate each with a slightly different mix of soils and aspect
Mas La Mola is a small property of 7 hectares in the Spanish Priorat. It has been in the Ferrando family for 150 years. Jordi Masdeu Català and Alessandro Marchesan, in charge of viticulture and winemaking, are passionate about old Garnacha and Cariñena vines, the typical varieties of the Priorat, from the famous Llicorella slate soils. The gnarly, old vines yield tiny quantities of fruit
