First produced in 2015 in honour of his wife, this wine is 52% Chenin Blanc, 40% Verdelho, 5% Grenache Blanc and 3% Grenache Gris and aged for 10 months in old French barrels and amphorae. Appealing nose of pear, peach, citrus with notes of dried herbs, and an elegant palate with a long and moreish finish.

The grapes are sourced from sites across Stellenbosch and the Swartland, incorporating a little skin contact and mix of fermentation vessels too.

Franco Lourens has served his apprenticeship as assistant winemaker to the highly-regarded Chris Alheit while simultaneously establishing his Lourens Family Wines project. From his base in Hermanus, he works with a series of growers to source the best fruit from sites of unique interest
