Description

A heavenly nose of apple pie and lemon peal. The palate is a youthful affair, edgy lemony with fabulous acidity countered perfectly by ripe mirabelle plum and a creaminess. A long reverberating crushed rock finish. Classic and classy Loire Chenin

Delivery Information

Organic Chenin Blanc grapes were hand harvested and underwent direct press into foudre for fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels for 12 months. Bottled with no filtration, fining or added sulphur.

Philippe Delmee was a maths teacher who was tired of the constraints of the classroom - he made the move to winemaking in 2006. After studying for two years, he started working with Benoit Courault and Domaines des Griottes, and Benoit helped him find a one-hectare parcel in Faye d’Anjou. He farms around 6ha across 16 parcels around Faye d’Anjou and Faveraye; the soils are mostly porous sand and schist with only a little clay.
