Description

A full-bodied Lemberger with juicy red currants and elderberries with spices of bay leaf and black pepper, smoky notes and tobacco. The saline finish is unendingly complex. A top-class representative of the Lemberger variety, try it with grilled beef or lamb and pot roast.

An impressive VDP Grosses Gewachs, it will be at least 4-5 years before this wine reaches its full potential. For the impatient, we recommend decanting at least 2 hours in advance of serving. Aged in old oak barrels for 24 months.

Today, the young and energetic Moritz Haidle is in charge of the estate. He is a dedicated organic farmer and a passionate devotee of hip-hop culture. A talented graffiti artist, Moritz is no doubt a radical figure in the Swabian wine scene, uprooting the traditional image of the staid German winzer. His vibrant character and commitment to terroir translate in the pure, focused wines that are emerging from this deep, natural cellar. Specializing in Riesling and Lemberger, Moritz gives the unique slopes of Stetten a chance to speak with nuance and clarity.
