A Pinot Noir from the cool-climate region of Elgin, where vines grow on iron-rich soils.

Pale and beautifully fragrant, it opens with wild strawberry, ripe raspberry and a gentle lift of spice. The palate is generous yet finely structured, with a silky texture, fine-grained tannins and well judged oak bringing a sweetly spiced note and a warm savoury finish.

The grapes were cold soaked and gently extracted before fermentation and maturation in French oak barriques: 25% new oak, 25% second fill and 50% third fill.

Only 2560 bottles were produced with just 120 allocated to the UK.

Edith May is a tiny, deeply personal South African wine project created by winemaker Nikki Weerts. Nikki began her career in Stellenbosch before spending time in California, where she honed her craft and developed a particular affinity for Pinot Noir while making wine for Sonoma's boutique WindRacer label.

After returning to the Cape Winelands with her family in 2022, she set out to create a collection of wines under her own name. The project is named in honour of grandmother, Edith May, and brings together everything Nikki. has learned abroad with the distinctive character of South Africa's most exciting vineyards.

Working in remarkably small quantities, Nikki produces expressive, site-driven wines with generous fruit, beautifully judged texture and an underlying freshness. Her style brings together California experience and unmistakably South African terroir.

We deliver throughout the United Kingdom with no minimum order requirement. For Mainland UK deliveries, the following charges apply:

We also offer the option to collect from any of our shops at no extra cost. All Mainland UK orders should be delivered within 2-4 working days.
