Description
From a 25 year-old parcel of Chardonnay on the outskirts of Peronne, considered the best part of the Macon-Villages appellation; north of Pouilly-Fuisse, south of Uchizy, with the vineyards of Viré-Classé bordering on the east. Planted in clay/limestone soil, the fruit from this part of the Mâcon-Villages appellation tends to keep its acidity, due to a cooler microclimate, resulting in bright, fresh wines.

Delivery Information
Our Du Grappin wines are vins de soif, made to be delicious, fun and refreshing. We make them by hand in our ancient cuverie in the walls of Beaune from grapes we source from passionate growers. The result are wines with vivacity and personality. By packaging these wines in Bag-in Box, KeyKeg and Bagnum, our carbon foot-print is greatly reduced; by up to 80% compared to glass. The packaging keeps our wine fresh for weeks, as well as saving you money by reduced wastage, lower recycling charges, and more efficient use of scarce storage space. The grapes were harvested, pressed without SO2, then chilled to 8C in order to settle the solids from the juice. The oxidised juice was then racked along with the best solids to old barrels , stainless steel and some younger, large format barrels. We selected the brightest and most juicy barrels after 5 months on lies for our #Bagnum cuvee. The resulting blend was very lightly fined and filtered and lightly sulphured before packaging.
Le Grappin began in 2011 following Andrew Nielsen's five-year journey working for some of the world's great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay artisans in California, Central Otago, Burgundy and the Yarra Valley. Our vision for Le Grappin is to seek out special sites in the over-looked, under-appreciated reaches of Burgundy. We seek out viticulteurs who tend their vines throughout the year with exceptional care and attention, to give the grapes the best opportunity to shine. Our job is to ensure the wine reaches it's true potential; working by hand, with small lots, giving each wine as much care and attention as our viticulteurs have paid to the vines. Our Du Grappin wines are a natural off-shoot from Le Grappin...vins de soif, made to be delicious, fun and refreshing. We source our grapes from the passionate and revolutionary growers in the under-rated Maconnais, Beaujolais and Rhone regions. We make them by hand in our ancient cuverie in the walls of Beaune, with as much care and attention as with our Le Grappin wines. The results are wines with vivacity and personality; a joy to drink.
