Deep lustrous crimson. A hint of spicy oak still. Pretty full-on and ripe, with alcohol very evident. Tannins and acidity yet to fold into the very ripe, almost rude, fruit. I’d prefer to reserve judgment at this price and at this stage – if possible. There is sweetness on the finish, almost as though the fermentation didn’t quite get to dryness.
