Description

The Apremont is dominated by limestone characters. A nose of gunflint, flint and a mouth structured by a chalky sensation. This structure combined with a fine acidity gives a good length in the mouth. This white wine has great aging potential.

Delivery Information

The 12ha of vineyards he tends at altitude are mostly on South East exposure, favoring great maturity. The white varieties (Jacquère, Altesse, Chardonnay, Mondeuse Blanche) are pressed very gently using an old Coquard press (widely used in Champagne for the quality of extraction) and fermented directly in oak (large & small barrels).

Sitting in the French Alps, the Domaine de Chevillard is an organic vineyard of approximately 6 hectares in the heart of the Combe de Savoie Valley. Matthieu Goury is a passionate and committed young winemaker running the estate and producing exclusively white and red wines with the Protected Designation of Origin (AOP) Vin de Savoie and Roussette de Savoie. The estate grows a range of grape varieties, primarily from the Savoie region: Mondeuse for the reds and Jacquere, Altesse and Mondeuse blanche for the whites (even though the Pinot Noir and Gamay grape are also part of the vineyard).
