Bright, energetic and impossible not to enjoy. Aromas of lime blossom, citrus peel and white peach lead into a palate layered with juicy orchard fruit, delicate floral notes and a subtle slatey edge. Despite its gentle sweetness, the balance is impeccable, with racy acidity giving the wine incredible freshness and drive. Light in alcohol but full of personality, this is classic Mosel Kabinett at its most joyful, and one of those bottles that’s almost impossible to stop pouring.

Daniel created this Kabinett as a return to the classic, lighter Mosel style that he personally loves to drink. Grapes are picked early from the steep slate vineyards around Winningen, with fermetation and maturation split between stainless steel and seasoned French oak barrels for around six months. The result is a beautifully pure Riesling that retains a little natural sweetness while showcasing the precision and energy. that define Daniel's wines.

Daniel Fries represents a new generation of German winemakers redefining what the Mosel can produce. After studying at Geisenheim University and gaining experience in Burgundy at Domaine de Montille and Oregon's Lingua Franca, he returned to his family estate in Winningen to establish his own label in 2019.

His vineyards lie on the dramatic slate terraces of the Terrassenmosel, some of the steepest sites in Europe, where every vine is worked entirely by hand. Daniel farms each parcel separately, allowing every vineyard to express its own charactger before blending where appropriate. The result is a collection of wines that combine remarkable precision, freshness and mineral character with an understated confidence that has quickly earned him recognition as one of Germany's most exciting young producers.
