A glorious dark golden colour, The nose is full of caramelised nuts, thick and creamy with that hallmark bitter orange The palate has warming sweet spice, and rich orangey citrus so very intense and long,. We absolutely love this sensational sweet wine.

Alain Déjean is a bit of a rebel by nature, he selects grapes from the best parts of the vineyard only for this wine, it's a special site, right in front of Y'quem, on blue clay, In a previous life Alain worked for a supermarket chain, caved in and finally went back to farm the domaine. 5 different parcels, harvested throughout Oct, small press, a slow wild fermentation, aged in old accaia barrels for 7 yrs + more in bottle, an indestructible wine, 355 g rs, but look out for bitter & blood orange flavours.

Alain took over the reins in 1995 becoming the 7th generation to work the vines at the domaine, and very quickly developed an obsession with the notion of terroir. He spent nights devouring books about biodynamics and astrology looking to understand not only the esoteric theory but also, thanks to a more cartesian approach, the practicality of the various techniques and preparations. Almost thirty years of practice and an all-or-nothing type of commitment have made him a fountain of knowledge on Humboldt and Goethe, Rudolf Steiner, ancient Greek science, cosmology of the four elements, etc – he's become a master of biodynamic farming and it doesn't take much probing for him to go lyrical on the aforementioned subjects.
