Aged in 50%-80% new French oak barrels for 15-18 months. On average, the property produces between 1,000 and 1,500 cases every year.
One of the top estates in Pomerol. The 4.4 hectare vineyard is planted to 85% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc (plus 1% Malbec normally not used in the blend). The portion of old vine Cabernet Franc (up to 85 years of age) is an important component of what makes this wine unique. Those vines, and the rich clay soils are a large part of what separates the style and aromatic complexity of LEglise Clinet from the most of the other top Pomerol wines.
