Intense ruby red with lifted aromas of ripe red cherry, wild berries, plum, and violet, accented by hints of sweet spice and subtle earthiness. On the palate it is bright, juicy, and medium-bodied, driven by Barbera’s hallmark lively acidity. Flavours of fresh cherry, raspberry, and cranberry unfold alongside notes of liquorice and gentle oak. The texture is smooth and energetic, finishing with clean, refreshing acidity and a touch of minerality. Excellent with pasta al ragù, grilled sausages, pizza with cured meats, roasted vegetables, and aged cheeses.

Produced from 100% Barbera grown in the estate's sunny "Braja" vineyards on chalky marl soils. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested entirely by hand. Around 40% of the wine is matured in wood for between six and twelve months to soften the natural acidity and add texture and complexity. The remaining wine is preserved in cement to retain freshness and purity. Additional bottle ageing before release helps harmonise the wine's structure and vibrant fruit character.

La Braja takes its name from the sun exposed vineyards surrounding the ancient estate of Castello di Gabiano. It represents a fuller, more structured expression of Barbera. The estate has been producing wine for centuries and is today owned and guided by Emanuela and Giacomo Cattaneo Adorno.
