Alt de les Flors opens with delicate, perfumed aromas of red cherry, pomegranate, wild strawberry, and rose petals, supported by subtle hints of herbs, white pepper, and Mediterranean garrigue. The palate is supple, bright, and elegant, with juicy red-fruit purity and a fine thread of lively acidity. Silky, understated tannins give gentle structure while allowing the wine’s floral lift and mineral freshness to shine. The finish is clean, graceful, and refreshingly aromatic. Perfect with grilled tuna, paella, charcuterie, lightly spiced dishes, and fresh cheeses. Its bright profile also pairs beautifully with vegetable-focused cuisine.

Alt de les Flors is a tiny-production parcel wine from old vines on the Lloma Rasa estate, at around 550 metres altitude. The vineyard lies on shallow, poor, highly calcareous white soils reminiscent of albariza and is traditionally bush-trained.
A predominantly Monastrell (90%), it is accompanied by small amounts of local varieties including Bonicaire, Arcos, Garnacha and Merseguera.

After fermentation, the wine spends around 10 months in large 600-litre French oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop complexity and structure without overwhelming the fruit.

The result is a more refined expression of Mediterranean Monastrell: dark-fruited and structured, but with freshness, mineral character and a distinctly elegant edge.

Can’ Leandro is a small family winery based near Ontinyent, in the mountainous interior of Valencia. Founded in 2013 by brothers Gabriel and Alberto Sanchis Mestre, the project grew from their family’s long history of grape growing, with a new ambition: to revive old vineyards and indigenous varieties and show a very different side of Valencia.

Working with traditional grapes including Merseguera, Monastrell and the rare Bonicaire, they farm old, predominantly bush-trained vineyards at altitude on the region’s pale, limestone-rich soils. The approach in the cellar is thoughtful and low-intervention, with small-batch winemaking designed to preserve freshness, texture and a clear sense of place.

Now organically certified and incorporating regenerative practices in the vineyards, Can’ Leandro represents an exciting new generation of Spanish producers — looking backwards to local varieties and traditions to make distinctly modern wines.
