Description
A fruity and full wine with great tannins and structure that has undergone some malolactic fermentation and minimal intervention before aging in clay amphora.Ops is the Roman goddess of fertility and plenty though Taurus the Bull features on the label as this constellation in biodynamic lore is said to influence growing.

Loxarel is happy to experiment with wine making and this 100% Garnacha wine is matured in 720 ltr clay amphoras for 4 months.
Josep Mitjans at just 16 made his first wine and since 1985 has gone on to grow. Studying as an enologist and taking over the family vineyards he has now had 4 generations of contact with the vines and land. Converting it all to biodynamic and viniculture. He works closely with a small team producing a number of wines that celebrate the indigenous varietals of the region, choosing amphora vessels for fermentation and ideally no added sulphur.

The Spanish wines are often overlooked but this Garnacha that Pippa Hayward introduced me to is superb - from a small bodega close to Barcelona - excellent value and with amazing flavors - one to drink
