A beautifully pale rosé with real personality. Delicate aromas of wild strawberry, blood orange, rose petals and Mediterranean herbs lead to a fresh, savoury palate where crunchy red berries meet citrus zest and a subtle volcanic edge. Dry, vibrant and mouthwatering, it's equally at home as an aperitif or alongside Mediterranean cooking.

Made primarily from Nerello Mascalese with a small addition of Carricante, the grapes receive only a brief period of skin contact to achieve a delicate colour before cool fermentation in stainless steel. The result is a rosé that combines freshness, finesse and the unmistakable character of Etna's volcanic soils.

Few wineries can genuinely claim to have shaped the history of a wine region. Barone di Villagrande is one of them.

The Nicolosi family has farmed the eastern slopes of Mount Etna since the late 1600s, receiving the title of Baron of Villagrande in 1727. Today, ten generations later, the estate remains family owned, cultivating organically farmed vineyards around the village of Milo, where cooling sea breezes from the Ionian coast meet Etna’s dramatic volcanic landscape.

The family’s influence extends beyond their own vineyards. In 1869 they pioneered separate vinification for white and red grapes on Etna, helping establish a new quality benchmark for the region. Nearly a century later, Carlo Nicolosi Asmundo played a key role in writing the regulations for Etna DOC, Sicily’s first DOC appellation.

These wines are wonderfully authentic expressions of Etna: elegant rather than powerful, driven by freshness, volcanic minerality and native grape varieties. They capture everything that makes this remarkable mountain one of the world’s most exciting wine regions.
