Description

A wonderfully full flavoured red showing vanilla and blackcurrant notes on the nose. The palate bursts with excellent concentrated plum and silky blackberry. Cherry and soft spice finish. Try this with a spicy sausage pasta dish.

The 100% Monastrell grapes are sourced from bush vines cultivated in the north-east of the Jumilla region, on sandy, chalky soil at around 700m altitude. After hand-harvesting the grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel, then maturation in French and American oak for around 4 months.

Bodegas Juan Gil is the originator of the group Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares (Gil Family Estates), which gives its name to a reduced group of small wineries scattered throughout the Spanish geography. These wineries have been incorporated into the family since 2002, with the common denominator of using native varieties, in addition to offering a cared-for image, and an unbeatable value for money within the niche where each of their projects is located.
