Ruche is a native black grape indigenous to the area of Castagnole Monferrato DOCG in Piedmont. It was saved from the brink of extinction in the 1960's by the local parish priest, Don Cauda, who began growing it in the parish Benefice, even though he received repeated reprimands from the Curia.

The Prediomagno Ruche is intense ruby red in colour. The nose has a broad aroma of roses and ripe red fruit. Very elegant on the palate, with soft, velvety tannins and an intense, persistent aromatic finish.

The organic Ruche grapes are hand harvested and carefully manually sorted, to ensure only the best fruit is fermented. No oak is used, in order to preserve the fruit's natural aromatics.

Emanuela Novello and her husband Giovanni set up the winemaking company Prediomagno in the area between Montemagno and Grana, a district with beautiful rolling hills and a deep-rooted food and wine culture.

Everything began with the purchase of a late 19th-century villa, from which you can see Montemagno castle with its Ghibelline battlements.

For more than 30 years, Emanuela and Giovanni have used expertise, technology and innovation in their quest for excellence.
