Pulenta Estate

Sons of winemaker Antonio Pulenta, Eduardo and Hugo Pulenta gave life to Pulenta Estate in 2002. Located in Alto Agrelo in Mendoza the estate was born from Italian roots; a heritage of tradition that lives still today, combining experience and highly qualified labour. Angelo Antonio Polenta emigrated from Italy to Mendoza in 1902 and soon changed his name to the Argentine Pulenta. He bought his first land in 1914, on which he built a small winery and thus established a family-owned company that grew until 1997 when it was sold. In 2001 his grandsons Hugo and Eduardo Pulenta decided to revive their family name in the industry in their own winery, producing their first vintage in 2002.

Their 135 hectares of quality vineyards enjoy perfect climatic conditions at an altitude of 980m, with melting ice from the Andes Mountains providing a natural irrigation system. Their range features young, fresh wines under the La Flor label, bottled and released after 3 months in oak. The Estate reds see 12 months in new French oak as well as 12 months ageing in bottle before release. The 'Gran' wines are top series of the range, at the pinnacle of which is the Gran Corte, composed of an impressive blend including Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Tannat.
