This highly impressive 2022 red marks a landmark moment for English still winemaking, showcasing a surprising, generous plumpness that challenges cool-climate expectations. Far from standard thin or overly acidic profiles, it highlights an incredibly silk-textured core that captures old-school fruit purity through thoughtful, low-intervention methods.
In the glass, it pours a deep, translucent cherry red. The bouquet opens beautifully with a highly aromatic mix of sweet field strawberries, dark red cherries, and juicy plums, layered underneath subtle hints of kitchen spice and damp autumn earth. On the palate, the wine feels remarkably smooth, plush, and medium-bodied, carrying its generous layers of bright red fruit across a matrix of fine, silky, and nicely grippy grape tannins
