Is there a minimum order requirement for EU deliveries?

Since Brexit - Do I have to pay local duties and taxes in my country?

Please be aware that your delivery will be subject to local customs duties and taxes, over which we have no control. We will include these in our quotation to you and we handle all customs paperwork so nothing will be payable upon delivery by the receiving party. Please note that the recipient of the parcel will need to be aware and engaged in the process as otherwise you risk the goods delivery to be unsuccessful. No returns will be accepted in cases where the customer refuses to pay the duties and as a result, the package is sent back to sender.

Do I have to pay UK taxes when ordering?

No, you do not have to pay UK taxes when we ship to an EU country. All prices in our website include UK taxes and when checking out VAT will be deducted from your purchase. This applies to all EU countries plus the Channel Islands.

When will my order be delivered?

This depends on the service selected. Express service will deliver your wines within 2-5 working days. All other EU & International orders should be delivered within 7-12 working days unless we advise you otherwise. Delivery will take place on Monday to Friday. European deliveries do not take place on weekends.

Can I receive my goods at an alternative address?

Yes of absolutely- just inform us of the relevant delivery address when making contact.

What happens if I am not there to accept the delivery?

If you are not going to be there to receive the delivery of your wine, don’t worry. You can either designate a safe place for the delivery in the “Special Delivery Instructions” section of the checkout (for example: leave at back of the house or leave with neighbour) or our courier will leave a card so that you can contact them and rearrange delivery at a more convenient time. Please note if you choose to have your order left with a neighbour or put outside your premises and not signed for we cannot hold any responsibility for loss whatsoever.

What are your delivery charges?

This will have to be quoted on a case by case basis. The Delivery charge will vary based on Delivery Service selected (Economy or Express), total volume of order, origin and value of wine selected as well as the recipient country.

If you have any special delivery requirements please call 020 3489 5610 or email us at contact@thegoodwineshop.co.uk. For example, for orders of 240 bottles or more we can often arrange pallet deliveries to EU destinations at very competitive prices.

What happens if any of my wines are damaged?

If you receive your order and some or all of the bottles are broken or damaged please let us know immediately by contacting us on 020 3489 5610 or contact@thegoodwineshop.co.uk. For European deliveries we will only credit your account for damaged bottles due to the high shipping charges to resend.
