Ripe apple aromas on the nose, excellent fresh but balanced mid palate. Very rewarding wine with beautiful elegant summer freshness.

A very reliable property in the hands of Alain Thienot producing delightful traditional claret. 2003 was a very hot vintage and this wine shows more appealing fruit characters than might ordinarily be apparent.

Rich, broad and powerful red from Gioia del Colle, the best part of Pulia for Primitivo. Raspberry, cherry and some coffee/ tobacco flavours, this is a warm Mediterranean beauty!

Framingham is a boutique winery hand-crafting wines from some of the oldest and best vineyards from the world renowned Marlborough region. The Classic Riesling is a generous wine with rich floral, citrus and mineral characters, supported by a juicy acidity.

The second wine of Musar with plenty of the great wine’s aroma and style. Mid-weight and with a highly charged aromatic nose reminiscent of exotic ancient Burgundy crossed with Bush Vine Grenache -, it has a really silky moth feel and tremendous spiced ripe fruit flavours. It’s the perfect companion to aromatically spiced middle-eastern dishes – think slow-roast shoulder of lamb with cumin and garlic. Decant an hour ahead if you can.

The name gives this one away a little. It's 100% Tempranillo and it has been aged for five months in oak (half French and half American). The characteristic warmth of the Tempranillo grape is added to weighty dark fruit and a hint of chocolate while the oak brings a creamy texture. Truly luxurious.

Oak-free, as is its sibling, the Chardonnay. Top notch winemaking shows just how much concentration you can get from A-grade fruit and very low yields. Best decanted at least two hours ahead.

Unoaked Viognier from Mendoza in Argentina and what a Viognier it is! The name Serbal comes from a magic tree reported to have grown to 99 feet by the indigenous people of the region. The grapes for this wine are grown at an altitude of 4430 feet giving a huge fragrant nose and rounded body packed full of tropical fruit that remains very fresh.

Soave can be a bit bland and rather ordinary, however this wine is a cracker. Carefully grown Gargenega grapes produce soft white peach and creamy notes that would compliment creamy chicken or seafood pasta dish delightfully.

100% Cabernet Franc with 15 months in American oak, this has the bags of juicy fruit associated with this varietal.

Gernot Heinrich has 60 hectares of vines in Burgenland in East Austria, just a few kilometers from the Hungarian border and he uses them to grow indigenous grapes such as Blaufrankisch, St. Laurent and Zweigeit to perfection. This offering is bright ruby red in colour with a nose of cherry and red fruit with touches of spice. It is fruit driven with soft, supple tannins and perfect for early drinking. If you've never tried it before, it's a fantastic introduction to Austrian wine.

A soft and ripe berry-scented supple red from very old Carignan Bush Vines, (between 80 and 100 years old), dry-farmed in the Maule Valley close enough to the Pacific to benefit form some cooling breezes. The grape can produce rather raw and chewy wines – here the extra concentration of fruit from such low-yielding, mature vines, gentle handling in the winery and a 14 month period of ageing in oak (the majority second fill) produces a beautifully balanced wine.

A splendid property of some 52 hectares, where the average age of the vines is about 40 years. They produce extremely fine, stylish characterful wines that have excelled in recent vintages.

Dark cherry fruit beautifully interwoven with toasty brown sugar and spice. Balanced but powerful and with lucious fruit and rewarding structure producing a lengthy and appealing finish.
