Description

Savoury, fruity and elegant, this Syrah is laced with dark stone fruits, subtle mocha and tobacco. Some exotic aromas of incense and peppery spices. Great nuance and a suave, elegant texture.

The vines for this Syrah are planted in vineyards with chalky soils. Tight row spacing and high canopies keep the clusters in a mottled kind of light. The must is vinified in open top fermenters with 25 percent whole clusters, after which the wine is aged for 17 months in neutral French oak.

Ojai's promise is to create California wines with a European sense of finesse.
