A juicy and supple blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with the local Tannat grape made by the Plaimont Co-operative deep in the south west of France. Purple colour with violet hues, fresh black fruit nose with spicy and licorice hints. The mouth is powerful but supple, with silky tannins. Well balanced and well rounded on the palate. Fresh finish with fruit and black pepper aromas.

Producer Producer

Located in rural South West France, Gascony has a rich viticultural history, once boosted by the popularity of Armagnac. By the latter half of the 20th century, however, this production had dwindled, leaving villages and vineyards abandoned. This decline was reversed by Andr� Dubosc, a local man determined to reinvigorate the area and restore its wine reputation. He brought together a group of like-minded winegrowers and in 1979 founded Producteurs Plaimont, a union of three cooperatives, Plaisance, Aignan and Saint-Mont. Their quality-focused approach melds respect for tradition and innovation: ancient grape varieties have been resurrected; old vineyards have been restored, new ones planted, and environmentally sustainable practices embraced, eschewing chemicals. Modern winemaking techniques yield vivacious wines showcasing the delicious flavours and succulent acidities of Gascony�s characterful, local grapes. Gascony�s wine culture is now thriving - the countryside is carpeted with vines once more and Plaimont enjoys an international reputation for its high quality, characterful wines, present across four appellations.
