Mount Brave, Cabernet Sauvignon Mt Veeder 2012
Cabernet Sauvignon 100%
The Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon is meant to show all that is Mt. Veeder without overt tannins and the 2012 is a great example of that proposition. Black and red berry characters with hints of herb, Asian spice, espresso and toast combine with floral notes, weight and a wonderful finish.
Mount Brave's Cabernet comes from the higher altitude Mount Veeder appellation, known for its elegance and structure. The wine undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel, before being moved to oak barrels for malolactic and ageing. It spends 19 months in 80% new French oak before bottling without fining or filtration.
Mt. Brave is a tribute to those who settled the rugged terrain of Mt. Veeder in the Napa Valley during the 1800s. Winemaker Chris Carpenter produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc from our high-altitude estate vineyard. This wild and isolated winegrowing region features panoramic views, sparse soils, steep terrain and some of the lowest yields in the Napa Valley.
