The ample Tannat and Petit Verdot components make for the darkest Bokooi to date. Great depth on the nose with black fruits, liquorice and spice that linger on a lengthy palate with fully rounded, soft tannins. Be warned, true to its name, this bokkie will disappear before you know it.

Delivery Information
Grapes were destemmed and punched down once a day during spontaneous fermentation. Gentle and minimal handling ensures tannins stay soft and rounded so that focus falls on the fruit. After fermentation, grapes were lightly pressed and moved to old French oak the next day. Matured in oak for 10 months and minimal SO2 added before bottling in November 2020.
Lowerland specialises in small-batch, natural wines from our organic vineyards in of Prieska, South Africa. Our high altitude and continental, desert climate, with cooling river breezes at night, yields healthy grapes with small berries and wines with complex concentrations of fruit and a naturally high acidity. We favour 'Old World' winemaking techniques such as natural fermentation, manual pump overs and gentle barrel maturation in older French oak. Cultivars: Tannat, Colombard, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Shiraz.
