This case contains one bottle of each of the wines listed below.

  • Domaine Rapet, Pernand-Vergelesses ‘Les Combottes’ 2018

This is without doubt an up-and-coming appellation… a potential new kid on the block. The nearby Grand Cru wines of Corton-Charlemagne take all the plaudits but the quality of the fruit being produced in this village is raising a few eyebrows. Fresh with a touch of white flowers, this is a perfect partner for fish, seafood and risotto dishes and also matches blue and goat’s cheese well.

  • Domaine de Montille, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru ‘En Remilly’ 2018

Often described as mini Puligny-Montrachet, there is tremendous quality and value to be had here with En Remilly generally considered the finest of the Premier Cru vineyards of the appellation. The wine is produced by Etienne De Montille of the famous winemaking family and his sister Alix. A village always keeping an eye out for….winewise.

  • Etienne Sauzet, Puligny-Montrachet 2018

From one of the great names in Burgundy and from one of, if not the most famous white wine producing village. With the classical floral nose characteristic of the appellation and massive power throughout this is archetypal white burgundy. This 2018 is drinking beautifully now.

  • Domaine Taupenot-Merme, Chambolle Musigny 2017

Going further north now into the Cote-de-Nuits we come to one of the most famous villages of all for red Burgundy. The style of the wines is a lighter coloured red, elegant on the nose, sometimes a bit of both red fruit and dark fruit characters and just utterly seductive. Romain Taupenot, the seventh generation of this winemaking family, is a highly driven man striving to just get better and better… and making a fine job of it. 2017 is a relatively approachable early drinking vintage and this absolutely charming wine is just such.

  • Domaine Heitz-Lochardet, Pommard 1er Cru ‘Clos des Poutures’ 2014

Armand Heitz is one of the new generation of winemakers in Pommard making much more forward, elegant, attractive wines that can be drunk younger than of old. 2014 whites are rightly considered the finest for many years but initially the reds were somewhat ignored because of the highly anticipated 2015’s. However, with a few years in bottle the 2014 reds are now highly regarded and showing really well.

  • Domaine Rapet, Corton Grand Cru ‘Pougeots’ 2016

With a south facing aspect this Grand Cru vineyard certainly produces fine, ripe Pinot Noir. 2016 is arguably the finest red Burgundy vintage of recent years and while this wine will drink well now, it could easily be hidden away for another few years. Domaine Rapet is on a high at the moment with quality on the up year on year.
