Segla is the little brother of the Chateau's Grand Vin and is very enjoyable at an earlier age. The 2014 is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot with a dash of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It has wonderful blackberry fruit with just a hint of black olive coming through with a lovely graphite finish.

Segla is the little brother of the Grand Vin from Chateau Rauzan Segla. The chateau does not offer Segla en primeur but rather releases it when it feels it is ready to be enjoyed. The fruit comes from the estates 45ha of vineyard and the 2014 is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.

Bought by the Wertheimer brothers of the fashion house, Chanel, in 1994, Rauzan Segla has slowly undergone a transformation under the astute leadership of John Kolasa. Prior to the Chanel ownership, grapes were harvested by machine with no sorting tables and foot pressed before being fermented in enormous vats with little to no temperature control. Since 1994, new machinery, investment in the chai, combined with harvesting by hand and much greater selection in the vineyard have brought this 2nd growth estate into the 21st century as one of the foremost Margaux properties.
