Chateau Rauzan-Segla, Margaux 2007
Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 40%
On the nose, the Rauzan-Segla, Margaux 2007 displays dark blackberry fruit, cigar box, and spices (mostly cloves). The palate is medium-bodied with black fruit, truffle and a good dose of spice, leading to a refined, almost velvety finish. Relatively low acidity without lacking spine, approachable without loosing character. Fine-grained tannins.
Chateau Rauzan-Segla's main wine is fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks. The wine is then matured in barriques (60 percent new) for 18 months.
Chateau Rauzan-Segla, a classified Second Growth, has approximately 50 hectares (130 acres) of vineyards planted to 61 percent of Cabernet Sauvignon, 35 percent Merlot, 2 percent Cabernet Franc and 2 percent Petit Verdot.
