A reference to the fact that Pieter feels Stellenbosch has been overlooked following the Swartland Revolution. The half red star represents the revolution and the black and white stripes Stellenbosch (The Empire) fighting back! If you must know it's made from Verdelho (35%), Roussanne, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc. Some whole bunch fermentation in concrete eggs and amphora, which is new to Pieter, give it a touch of extra texture. Lots of fruit sweetness and ripeness, seemingly a little more traditional, but has that element of funk.
