Description

Discover this exclusive mixed case for our Austrian Wine month in September, showing what Austria can do. Explore the world of indigenous Austrian grape varieties and all the styles this country has to offer!

This case contains one bottle of each of the wines listed below.

  • Rainer Wess, Gruner Veltliner Sandgrube 2021, Kremstal

A dry white made of the local grape Gruner Veltliner. Juicy stone fruit, lemon and typical white pepper and herbs aromas. There is added complexity of delicious struck-match, flint and vanilla pod. Very fresh palate with notes of lemon curd, gingerbread and peaches. A wine for everyone as it is both complex and absolutely charming.

  • Zahel, Wiener Gemischter Satz 2020, Vienna  Organic, Biodynamic

The Viennese appellation of origin is dedicated to Gemischter Satz, a field blend harvested and fermented together. No less than six grape varieties give complexity to this beautiful dry wine. Intense fresh peach and apricot aromas with a touch of pineapple. Well balanced by a crisp acidity and good minerality making for a really bright, zippy and enjoyable wine.

  • MA Arndorfer, Riesling Strasser Weinberge 2019, Kamptal

Super elegant with delicious ripe citrus, lime peel, green apple and Mediterranean aromatic herbs. Refreshing minerality with hints of rocky and calcareous aromas. Beautifully balanced with zippy acidity and great depth.

  • Gerhard Pittnauer, St. Laurent 2017, Burgenland

Subtle herbal spices alongside juicy red berries such as red cherry and redcurrant. A fresh and authentic red with balance. Goes wonderfully with spicy dishes or as a white substitute for grilled fish. Drink it slightly chilled.

  • Moric, Reserve Blaufrankisch 2019, Burgenland  Organic, Biodynamic

Pure and inviting, this Reserve wine has a lovely delicate nose with enticing red berry fruits and warm spice. The palate has grippy but fine tannins and a creaminess to the texture. Refined and elegant with such detail on the finish.

  • Waldschutz, Gruner Veltliner Schafberg Icewein 2019, Kamptal  37.5cl

Far from sticky and cloying, this has perfect balance. The citrus acidity cuts through any possible syrupiness and elevates this wine above the norm. Chill it down for a fresh, clean delight. Amazing with apple strudel and sweet pastry dishes or the classic Blue cheese or foie gras. You can also pour it over a really good ice cream.
