From the relatively unknown Monica grape variety which is grown almost exclusively in Sardinia, this is an intensely flavoured red with plenty of bright fruit and floral aromas.
This example sees no oak, being fermented in stainless stell and then aged in cement.
The present owners, Alberto Loi's sons and daughter, are the third generation of the family devoted to the production of Cannonau wine. The estate is situated in Ogliastra, the Eastern-central region of Sardinia, stretching from the massive Gennargentu down to the sea, the best 'terroir' of the Cannonau wine. More precisely, in the countryside of Cardedu a few kilometres from Jerzu.
