Description

Bursting with ripe red cherry fruit aromas, this is pretty Pinot Noir. The palate is light yet supple, packed with juicy red fruits.  The tannins are nicely softened by time in second use oak which adds gentle spice to this excellent Pinot. A perfect red to start off summer.

The cleanest fruit is cold macerated for 3 days prior to the fermentation which lasts about a week. The resulting wine then soaks on the skins for a further week before being transferred to a specialist room in order to go through a full malolactic fermentation prior to 8 months in 4th fill French oak barrels before bottling.

An English gem in Devon, Sharpham is one of England’s most picturesque vineyards. They have been making wine for nearly 20 years and are recognised for producing some of England's most outstanding wines. Set in a natural amphitheatre in 550 acres of West Country farmland, the estate produces stylish, fruit-forward wines from the Madeleine Angevine and Bacchus grapes. Its 14 acres of vines are planted on red loam soils on sheltered slopes overlooking the River Dart. Traditional and new world techniques are employed resulting in a range of distinctive and carefully balanced wines with intense fruit flavours and aromas.
